Filled for His Glory

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
As unbelievers, we were hungry and thirsty for God. We tried to find satisfaction in the things the world has to offer, but the emptiness we were experiencing did not leave us until we accepted Christ. He ended our hunger, quenched our thirst and made us righteous.
There is a difference, however, in being made righteous through the sacrifice of Christ and pursuing the kingdom of God and righteousness.
Pursuing the Kingdom of God
God has given us a mission. What is the mission? Our mission is to bring others into the kingdom of God and teach them God’s Word. It is not enough to lead them to salvation through Christ. We must sacrifice our time to help them grow and mature. It is imperative that we do not allow the affairs of life to dominate our days on earth. Doing so supplants our focus and keeps us from fulfilling the mission God has given us.
Pursuing Righteousness
Righteous living is a daily, conscious endeavour. It requires devotion to reading and studying the bible and earnest prayer. The attributes of the indwelling Spirit of God will become clearly evident in the life of the believer that is pursuing true righteousness. Righteous living honours God, and speaks in a way words cannot.
Jesus has assured us that we will not lack the necessities of life if we put Him first in our lives. We must remember that this life is temporary and eternity awaits with its rewards. No sacrifice of time or devotion is too great for the sake of the kingdom.
Lets Pray
