Responsibility of the New Creature in Christ Jesus

Continuing … In this three part series, we will take a close look at the new creature: his benefits, his lifestyle and his responsibility.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
God has given us so much. He gave us the life of His Son, and in the person of the Holy Spirit, he has given us Himself – personally helping, comforting and guiding us. We do not have to depend upon our own inadequate navigational skills as we journey through life.
Despite all that God has given so freely, we do have responsibility. We try to minister to the Lord in many ways. Some of the most popular are singing in the choir, children’s ministry, women’s ministry, men’s ministry, youth ministry – the list goes on. God has given all believers a ministry, however, and this is the ministry of reconciliation. What is the “ministry of reconciliation?” Purposefully sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with lost sinners. Many avoid this ministry like a plague, and sadly, do not know how to share God’s gift of salvation. The word of God makes it clear that each individual believer is responsible to his fellowman in this regard. Please note…
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 KJV
We dodge this responsibility by taking unsaved friends and loved ones to church with us hoping the pastor’s sermon will be engaging enough to compel them to walk down the aisle and give their lives to Christ. You are the only Christ your unsaved friends and loved ones see, so your daily walk with Christ Jesus must be the main example in your actions, behaviour, communication and character. There is nothing wrong in taking your friends to church in-fact it’s recommended we all do so, but your life should compel and draw them to Christ even before they come to church.
Where would we be if someone had not shared the gospel with us? Skirt the issue as we may, our responsibility is clear. Christ died for lost people; let us not fail to do our part to help them reach glory.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 KJV
